<p>Globalization is a hotly debated topic in the world today. There is no doubt that we have become more and more ‘one’ on the globe, but there are also many voices against globalization.</p> <p> </p> <p>In this Small Subject, you will dig into the many different aspects of Globalization.</p> <p> </p> <p style="margin-left:32.25pt">· The history of globalization.</p> <p style="margin-left:32.25pt">· How England fought for free markets.</p> <p style="margin-left:32.25pt">· How the gap between rich and poor peaked in the years before the 1st World War.</p> <p style="margin-left:32.25pt">· How the World Wars, the Russian revolution, and the crises in the 1930s reduced the gap between the classes.</p> <p style="margin-left:32.25pt">· How the era of globalization after 1980 has created a world more unequal than 100 years ago.</p> <p style="margin-left:32.25pt">· Anti-globalization movements and activists, what are their messages and what they have achieved.</p> <p style="margin-left:32.25pt">· Technological changes that have enabled capitalist globalization, such as shipping containers, intensive oil extraction, satellites, the internet, cell phones, computers, long distance travel, industrial farming, fast food, etc.</p> <p style="margin-left:32.25pt">· How multinational companies have become global companies and how the working classes has become an international proletariat.</p> <p style="margin-left:32.25pt">· How the means of communication has been monopolized by big companies and governments, and how the governments around the world have established police states steadily monitoring its entire people and punishing dissent.</p> <p> </p> <p>And it is about how We the People see ourselves in this new global world order.</p>

Discuss in you team how capitalist globalization causes pain around the World<br /> and consider what can be done to counteract the effects and to use the new<br /> communication possibilities to organize across borders.</p> <p style="margin-left:36.0pt; text-align:justify">3.
