The task is to understand the situation with regards to the debt of poor countries. How has it come to be, what does it mean for the people, and what can be done about it?

<p> </p> <p style="margin-left: 40px;">1. Participate in the course with the same title.<br /> <br /> 2. The team chooses a number of countries to work with to gain further knowledge<br /> about their situation with regards to debts. It can be done in trios or individually.<br /> Research is done on the internet. 2 hours.<br /> <br /> 3. The team meets to hear the result of the studies - each person or trio makes a short<br /> presentation. 2 hours.<br /> <br /> 4. Each student writes 1 pages with the headline "The debt trap". 2 hours. You must<br /> demonstrate:</p> <p style="margin-left: 80px;"><br /> <br /> - Knowledge about the size of debt in the South in a worldwide context<br /> <br /> - Examples of conditions put on governments by IMF and the World Bank, and<br /> what the consequences have been for the countries following them<br /> <br /> - Examples of situations where a country has not wanted to comply with said conditions<br /> <br /> - The specific situation of the country you have studied</p> <p style="margin-left: 40px;"><br /> 5.
