<div style="margin-left: 40px;"><br /> 1. The teacher gives a course on the power structures based on the files. The texts</div> <div style="margin-left: 80px;">describe, how the goal of the American Government since World War II has been to secure that the world is open to multinational corporations with national states open for a free market and capitalist regime. The texts show the power of the corporate world and how big companies are closely connected to the government administration as in the case of Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheeney. The text argues that wars, disasters and diseases are in the interest of the big corporations and of the government as well. Text with raw disclosure of who controls the world and their pure capitalists interests. Another dimension of this is the interest of the American Defense to sell American arms abroad and its close relations with the weapon industry with app. ½ of the military defense budget being used for private corporate contracts.</div> <div style="margin-left: 40px;"><br /> 2. An extra dimension in the course is that of secret societies, and whether conspiracy<br /> theories about that these are established to set a new world order, such as the<br /> Bilderberg Group, are correct. The teacher explains shortly about Bilderberg Group<br /> and others like Skulls and Bones or Masonic can be mentioned.<br /> <br /> 3. It might be a good idea to read selected parts of the texts in the trios to better<br /> understand the content<br /> <br /> 4. Discuss in the team about what Parenti and Naomi Klein argue:</div> <div style="margin-left: 80px;"><br /> - Do you think that it really as bad as Parenti describes: <br /> - Is my country a corporatist state? Why/why not?<br /> - What is the power or influence of the National State? Does the “National State” represent its people? If yes how? If no why not? Give examples from different countries?</div> <div style="margin-left: 40px;"><br /> 5. Discuss the conspiracy theories – what have you heard and what do you believe?<br /> What are the roots of the theories?<br /> <br /> </div> FILES!<br />
