Title:
Wording:
The task is to make your plan for the first period of the B-Certificate and to send it to your tutor.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
<div> The training period has a fixed plan. By following this you get into the routines of studying at distance.</div> <div> The tasks, courses and actions for each of the five periods of the one-year program have been defined and are listed in the Program Booklet of the B-Certificate, but there is no fixed plan for the order in which to study the different tasks within a period. It is for you to make your own detailed study plan for each period so that it fits your work in the Productive Unit and your other commitments to colleagues and family.</div> <div> First you must consider when to study in the period you are planning. On average you will have to study 15 hours per week. There are many models for how to do so and you must find what is good for you. You might:</div> <div> -study 3 hours five evenings during the week = 15 hours</div> <div> -study 7-8 hours two days per week from 14.00-22.00 = 15 hours</div> <div> -study 4 hours three evenings in the week plus 12 hours during one weekend per month = average of 15 hours per week</div> <div> -study 12 hours for one full day every week plus 12 extra hours one weekend per month = average of 15 hour per week</div> <div> -or ...</div> <div> </div> <div> Maybe every month is different in your Productive Unit so that you cannot have a fixed system for the whole year or not even for one period. All this you must consider. The fact of the matter is that you have to complete all the tasks of each period during that period, but you can move around the study tasks within the period as you want. You can take the tasks in the order that you like and you can do more than 15 hours in some weeks and less than 15 hours in other weeks.</div> <div> When you have made your study plan, the next step will be to stick to it. Something might come up forcing you to make changes in your study plan, but then you must catch up within the period. It therefore important that the plan you make is realistic and that you spread out the studies so that you do not end up with too much study work at the end of the period.</div> <div> Good luck with planning the first period!</div> <div> </div>
Directive:
<ol> <li> Read chapter 9 “Planning your training” in the Program Booklet of the B-Certificate.</li> <li> Look at the calendar of the 8 weeks of April and May 2015 and note important dates and deadlines for your Productive Unit as well as other commitments. Consider if there are weeks where you have little time and other weeks with extra time for studies, or if you are able to spread the studies evenly over the 8 weeks. </li> <li> Look at the example from chapter 9 of the B-Certificate program booklet of “how a first period plan could look like in overview”. In this example the studies are evenly spread out over all the weeks. You might have to do it differently so that your plan fits other commitments, but you must complete all the tasks of first period within the two-month period you are now planning. You need to consider the action of the period, what it should be and when you can do it so that it fits your other plans. When making the study plan you might also have to talk to others in your Productive Unit so that you get a good grip on the two-month period. If there are courses you would like to do together with other students you must find out if there are some in your area you can work together with.</li> <li> Make your study plan for the first period showing when you do courses, tasks and the action. Notice that you will already complete some of the tasks in the training period before period 1. These tasks you can do quickly or you can simply copy the work done, thus lightening the load for some of the weeks in period 1.</li> <li> When you have made the plan, send it to your tutor.</li> </ol> <div> </div> <div> Files</div> <div> </div> <div> 1.
