Wording:
The task is to conclude on your experience of the six-week training period, to consider if you are ready for the full one-year program, and to declare yourself ready or not ready.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
<div> You are now at the end of the training period. Therefore it is time to conclude.</div> <div> The 6-week training was designed so that you started out in a reasonable pace for the first three weeks and then geared up to full pace of study tasks equaling fully 15 hours of study per week. In this way you have gotten to know what it means to study for 15 hours per week.</div> <div> If you followed the training period program to the T (T for totally), this is a good indication that you are ready for the full one-year program. If you had serious problems reaching the studies, if you got behind one week and had to catch up the next week, this could be signs that you are not “up to the task”, or you might conclude that this was just your learning period, an experience which made you decide that definitely “I want to go for the full year program!”</div> <div> These are matters you need to conclude on. The one-year program lasts 12 full months and throughout this time you have to keep up with the studies. You must finish one period after the other, each within the defined time and you must finish one subject after the other with its final exam.</div> <div> This is a distance-learning program. You do not go to a classroom where a teacher is pushing you to do your things. The initiative is yours, you are the driving force,so if you do not have enough personal drive or if your circumstances are distracting you, then you need to consider again if you are ready at this stage to complete the program as intended or not.</div> <div> There is much to learn from this B-Certificate program. There is much to gain for yourself, for your Productive Unit and for the world around you, if you complete the program, but you must be prepared to go the whole hog. If you now declare yourself ready, you are expected to live up to your declaration and complete in time.</div> <div> Therefore you also have the option of opting out. You might say: “When I started the training period I was sure I would complete, but after I got into the training period I became in doubt. I am afraid my studies interfere too much with my efforts to run my Productive Unit with Superior Operational Reliability, so I talked to colleagues and I think it is better to wait until I am more on top of my own situation.”</div> <div> If on the other hand you stick to your commitment and declare loud and clear “I am ready” we will congratulate you and we will look forward to working with you in the year to come. We are happy that you decided after careful consideration that you are fully ready, and we wish you good and inspiring struggles for learning and action in the year to come. The tutor and OWU will be on your side.</div>
Directive:
<ol> <li> Read the introduction.</li> <li> Write down a conclusion on the training period. Was this as you expected? What did you learn about yourself and about your capacity for studying and organizing yourself around following the program? Why do you think this is a very important program for you to follow?</li> <li> Consider carefully if you are ready for the full one-year program.</li> <li> Write down your declaration to OWU, where you announce that you are ready for the full one-year program. Or if you do not feel ready, declare yourself not ready.</li> <li> Send your conclusion and your declaration to your tutor and to OWU.</li> </ol> <div> </div> <div> Files:</div> <div> </div> <div> 1.
