Wording:
The task is to learn to use negatives and questions in the simple past, with “do” as a helping verb, the past continuous, and the present perfect.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
When you start to learn English, you wonder – what is this DO that pops up all the
time? Why they not just use the words that are necessary?
Eh – Why they not just use the words? That is not proper English!
The DO is missing!
When you have spoken English for some time, you get used to it. You cannot even
say the sentence, because DO is missing.
Why DO they not just use the words that are necessary?
In this task you will not find the answer to this question. Maybe it is not so
important. What is important is that you learn to use DO and DOES and DON’T and
DOESN’T in a systematic manner, so that it becomes clear for you when to use
them.
What is also important for you is to know so much about the different tenses in
English that you can say what you want, even when it is not just simple!
DON’T miss it!
Directive:
1. Read from page 34 to page 55 in the grammar book (from page 3 in the PDF file) and do as many exercises
on each page as you need to make you feel at home in this past tense.
2. Write a short story or fairytale where you use this form.
3. Send it to your teacher for correction and comments.
