The task is to make a report including pictures from your project to be enjoyed by your school.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
The Service Period is structured in 7 periods each with its own headline. At the end of each period, you write a report about the past period and plans for the next. Based on the report there is a Skype meeting between you, the school and the Project Leader.
At the end of the 6 months Service Period, you make a final report.
So you will get used to writing reports and have the opportunity to improve your report writing skills from period to period. Use that opportunity!
It will help you to evaluate your work and results and to see things in a bigger perspective.

As a Development Instructor you are employed by Humana People to People to support the project in reaching its goals and visions, so when writing reports, it is important that you relate to these goals and visions and see your contribution as part of working towards them.
Include facts and information about the country and the area you work in – e.g. HIV/AIDS prevalence, poverty level, education, and health issues.
Give concrete examples of challenges and progress.
Be the voice of the Poor.
Present the structure of the project and the people.
Add pictures.
Imagine writing to people who know nothing about the country, the life of the Poor and the project so you want to go into details describing everything.
Directive:
This task is scheduled for 4 hours.

Evaluate the past period and write down key issues and results you wish to include in the report.

Make an outline or disposition for the report – introduction, main body and conclusion. Decide which pictures to include.

List your goals for the next period.

Put everything together in a report. Check your English – spell check is a must, but you should also show it to an English speaker to get corrections before sending it to your school.

Attached are 2 reports for inspiration. A final report by Thalita Fagundes from Child Aid Namdundwe in Zambia and a 4th Period Report by Keon Hite from NHQ HOPE in Zambia. Note that these reports have not been corrected for their English spelling and grammar.
