The task is to learn about what leaders and governments from all over the world stand for and how they respond to the challenge of climate change and global warming at the different Climate Conferences (e.g. Copenhagen, Bolivia, Durban).

Introduction:
Climate Change represents an urgent and potentially irreversible threat to human societies and the planet and thus requires to be urgently addressed. All members of Climate Conferences acknowledge that the global nature of Climate Change calls for the widest possible cooperation by all countries and their participation in an effective and appropriate international response, with a view to accelerating the reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions.<br /> <br /> Global Warming and Climate Change come down to the responsibility of humanity. Even if there are proves that the climate changes naturally over millions of years, there is no doubt that the extreme weather we are experiencing now and Global Warming are the outcome of the rapidly growth of economy, technology and population.<br /> <br /> Climate change is happening now with severe weather all over the globe, ice is melting, hurricanes stronger and more frequent, and so are mega storms, droughts and flooding. People are suffering and it is the responsibility of all humanity to act on it. As representatives of all nations, governments have the duty of crafting solid and engaging proposals to implement rapid actions to stop Global Warming.

This task is scheduled for 8 hours.<br /> <br /> This task can with advantage be solved in a team of 3-4 people working together and sharing information.<br /> <ol> <li>Read the files about different summits in Bolivia, Durban, Copenhagen and Cancun.</li> <li>You can use the file on the Kyoto Protocol and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change as reference.</li> <li>Choose a country and dig deeper into its position about this issue and their participation in the summits. Write your thoughts about it.</li> <li>Send your thoughts to your teacher.</li> </ol>
