The task is to discover new facets of creativity within yourself by turning yourself into an actor - theater artists on stage.

Introduction:
<p>Building your charisma can also involve developing your creativity - in this task you will approach theater as an art form.</p> <p>Like singing, theater also carries a message. The more ways you master in bringing an important message to the public, the better because you can engage more senses in the audience and therefore have a better chance of getting the message through. If you have seen a very good theater play with brilliant acting you simply don’t forget it because it has touched your heart.</p> <p>Making theater is also fun and train many different skills that are useful in developing your charisma: speaking loud and clear, using body language to support what you say, maybe using props, light, music etc. to underline the atmosphere, developing great team work…</p> <p>Enjoy finding a good theater play, training it and performing it for the public.</p>
Directive:
This task is scheduled for 20 hours<br /> <br /> We have attached a file with a number of smaller theater plays by Bertolt Brecht: “Fear and Misery of the Third Rich”. <ol> <li>Find a theater play either from the file or else where. You can also make a play yourself. Find people to play the different characters in the play.</li> <li>Read the text aloud together until you are familiar with it and try to make it as lively as possible.</li> <li>Train movements and gestures with the text in your hands, moving around on imagined stage as you practice a very lively performance.</li> <li>Rehearse you performance again acting out the play, now without the text in your hands. If you forget some lines or change the wording do not mind. Concentrate on acting and on story line so that an audience can follow.</li> <li>Decide if you wish to use special equipment such dress, furniture and props.</li> <li>Decide that you are now ready to perform the play without using the text.</li> <li>Invite people and make the practical arrangement for the performance.</li> <li>Make a convincing performance that makes an impression on your audience.</li> <li>Write 2 pages about your preparation, your performance and what you have learnt from the process. Get at least 3 people from the audience to write two lines with comments on how they experienced your performance.</li> <li>Send it to your tutor.</li> </ol>
