The task is to be in the forefront of mobilising a group of people to make an action that contributes towards better conditions for The Poor in the area around your school.

Introduction:
The modern teacher sees herself as another kind of teacher, a teacher working within a group of students, side by side and not relying on old-fashioned authoritarian threats or other tricks. Another kind of teacher cares not just for her students, but for the school, for the community and indeed for the direction of the world in which future generations will grow up.<br /> <br /> These emotions of the teacher are not just internalized feelings but are expressed in action and activism. In this task you as teacher will train local activism by planning for and leading an action led by you and your trio and aimed at improving life or living conditions in the community around the school.
Directive:
<ol> <li>Get inspired from TCE program book’s article <strong>Dream, Vision, Idea, Strategy, Tactics, Plan. </strong>[1h]</li> <li>Take a walk in area around your school together with your trio, look for places that deserve actions [collecting garbage, making a system for garbage, planting Moringa trees etc.]<br /> You can get inspired from from the book 40 Green Actions. [2h]</li> <li>In your trio, make an outline of 3 possible actions and present them to your teacher council.</li> </ol> a. The goal of the action<br /> b. The impact/change that will be made<br /> c. Who will be influenced by the outcome of the action?<br /> d. Who will be mobilised to take part in the action?<br /> e. Consider the resources – equipment, knowledge, skills and attitudes.<br /> f. Consider possible problems and solutions<br /> g. Write down the plan and review with a teacher or another experienced person.<br /> Together with the Teacher Council decide which action you [as a school] will carry out. [4h] <ol> <li>Present your plan and action to the Common Meeting and mobilise some of the students to be part of the following working groups:</li> </ol> <ul> <li>1<sup>st</sup> group is responsible for budget</li> <li>2<sup>nd</sup> group is responsible for materials and tools</li> <li>3<sup>rd</sup> group is responsible for mobilizing people around your school.</li> </ul> [Each of the trio is the leadership of one of the groups] [3h] <ol> <li>Make the last preparations for the action. [2h]</li> <li>Carry out the action to a high level and celebrate your result. [6h]</li> <li>Conclude the action in a common meeting where everybody concludes and evaluates. [1h]</li> <li>Write your own evaluation or experience and send it to the tutor. [1h]</li> </ol>
