Title:
Wording:
The task is to learn about the underlying doctrines of modern hegemony.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
The definition of hegemony: The social, cultural, ideological or economic influence exerted by a dominant group.

What then if a “group” dominate both our social, cultural, ideological and economic situation?

The government of the United States has pursued an "Imperial Grand Strategy" in order to maintain its status as the world's foremost superpower since at least the culmination of the Second World War.
Economic decision-making in the United States is highly centralized to selected socio-economic elites who control big business, and these elites play a dominant role in this Imperial Grand Strategy because they consistently maintain a strong influence over successive US governments. As a result, US foreign policy has focused on gaining and maintaining unrestricted access to markets, energy supplies and strategic resources across the world.

When some of the most resourceful and powerful people in the world go together and make long term strategies on how to maintain and expand this power, where does it then leave the rest of us?

Maybe the focus should not be the US government or China or Russia, when we are looking for the new super powers. Taking into consideration that some multinational corporations own more than some countries, distribution of wealth is going from the poor to the rich in a fast track privatization mode and that tax heavens are thriving more than ever. In 2011 there were $34 trillion hidden in tax heavens just from the US, and more than $30 billion from African countries every year.
