Wording:
The task is to give a speech within the topic Big Issues of our Time and share your experience about such action.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
How can I mobilize a group of people to take a big issue, something I feel very strongly about, so seriously that they join in on the fight of creating positive change?
How can I organize my thoughts into words that can reach into the hearts and minds of the people who hear me?
These questions and others might be ones that you asked yourself while preparing a speech on a big issue you feel very strongly about, or you may have asked these or similar questions after delivering a speech.
Speeches can be well prepared and the delivery can be well organized, or they can be of the moment, inspired by a conversation or conflict. In either case the reasons for preparing and /or giving a speech come from a desire to communicate in a more profound way than our usual communication in order to achieve a more profound outcome.
The effects on the audience of a speech you give will of course influence your experience and your view of the experience, but it is important to note that a speech to an audience is more than one-way communication. The experience also affects the speaker as the audience communicates by being interested, enraged or indifferent to the speech what ever may be the case. So you will in this experience reflect not just on the effects of a speech on the audience but in particular about how it affected you as the speaker, and what you might do different or in the same way next time you make a speech.
Directive:
1. Write about your experience(s) in giving a speech on a Big Issue.
