The task is to explain to others the difference between the concept of poverty and The Poor as human beings.

Introduction:
In <em>Humana People to People</em> we have changed from the concept of “Fighting Poverty” to “Fighting with The Poor”.<br /> <br /> "Poverty" is an abstract phenomena whereas "The Poor" are human beings with whom we<br /> can stand shoulder to shoulder in the fight to end poverty. This also means that The<br /> Poor are actively taking part in this fight and are fully engaged in changing their own fate.<br /> <br /> We can see the "Fighting with The Poor" concept reflected in TCE: HUMANA do not fight HIV/AIDS – only<br /> people can liberate themselves from the epidemic, they are at the center of attention in<br /> getting the epidemic under control.<br /> <br /> In this task you will ponder the difference between fighting poverty and Fighting with<br /> The Poor so you have a clearer understanding of the difference and can act upon this<br /> understanding in your work.
Directive:
1. Read the file: “Introduction – triggering a new higher education” from the<br /> OWU book “Fighting with The Poor” page 1-10, Humana People to People,<br /> 2008 (F1).<br /> <br /> 2. Write a short conclusion on the difference of fighting poverty and fighting with<br /> The Poor.<br /> <br /> 3. Make a list of 10 actions / points that shows the difference between fighting poverty and fighting with<br /> The Poor.
