The task is to organise the logistics for a 14-day trip of Bringing it to the Public, producing a complete and efficient itinerary, setting up meetings, obtaining necessary authorisations and preparing food, camping equipment and other practicalities.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
This is a special moment. It’s special because the core group will decide together the
details of the logistics for a 14-day trip of hitting the hearts.

When we talk about logistics, we mean all the practical materials and elements that
the group will need over the 14 days: food, camping equipment, water, safety,
contact, meetings, authorisations, materials, equipment and other necessities for the
group programme to run smoothly without any hitches.

As an example, imagine that the group is going to perform a play that requires
special costumes: if the group doesn’t have these costumes, the play will not reach
the desired level of performance. This can serve as an example of what to think
about and prepare for the 14-day Bringing it to the Public Campaign.

As such, the group needs to prepare to take all the preparatory measures to protect
themselves materially. To do this, the group needs to meet and think about
everything; everything that it is necessary to do and gather together so that the
programme runs smoothly.

This activity will enable each group member to feel secure that everything that will
be done is ready to be done. This confidence will motivate each person to play their
part in sync with the others.

This is a way for each member of the group to learn to think in a professional way
about everything that he or she decides to do. Thinking in a professional way also
means thinking in detail about the material and communication needs of what you
are going to do.

This task is a good opportunity for you to experiment being a good professional in
what you do. Everything is thought about down to the last detail, nothing is left to
chance.

Good luck.
Directive:
1. Discuss the importance of organising your itinerary for the 14-day Bringing it to
the Public Campaign.

2. Decide on a complete and efficient itinerary – a route that shows all the places
and dates on a poster – and a list of all the material needs of the group on each of
the 14 days.

3. Preparatory actions, which could be done in small groups:

a. Arranging meetings and confirming these.
b. Obtaining the necessary authorizations.
c. Getting food.
d. Finding and getting places to camp each day.
e. Getting the necessary equipment.
f. And other practical aspects.

4. Each small group puts all the logistical measures taken on a poster and shows it
to other teachers and students from other core groups for feedback.

5. Self-evaluate your logistical readiness for the 14-days Bringing it to the Public
trip.
