Draw lessons from a show or presentation, which was performed with average results, in order to learn to identify what is needed for you to hit your audience in the heart.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
This experience assumes that a show or presentation was held within the activities of Hitting
the Hearts, but the results, according to your evaluation criteria, were not fully
met. You felt that you have reached the hearts only by half. That's why we
call it an average quality show.

But what is of interest in this? What can be learned from an average quality
show, a show which ''more or less'' appealed to the audience?
The first thing you should understand is that there is a relationship between
the process of presentation and the result of Hitting the Hearts. If the process
of presentation is of low quality, the results will also be low; if the quality of
the show is average, the results will also be average or worse; if the quality of
the show is high, the results will also be high. There is a proverb that says,
''you cannot reap good fruit from a sick tree.''

This experience is important to train your ability to feel, through the reaction
of the audience, the quality level of your presentation and its outcome.

An audience doesn’t hide their feelings towards something that is being
presented. If excited, the audience applauds, laughs and expresses feelings of
empathy; but if it is unpleasant, the audience will also express their
indifference and concern at the fact that it is just wasting their time.

At first, you may react to this kind of assessment, made through the reactions
and comments from the audience. Your argument may be that it is too
subjective, it is not concrete. But think about it: You have seen many different
presentations; some of them pleased you while others didn’t. Think of those
performances that didn’t please you: Why didn’t they motivate you? Was the
message unclear? Was the message irrelevant to you?

However, the intention here is not to please the audience; it is to educate the
audience, to engage and involve people from the audience in the issue that
you are presenting. Even if a person doesn’t have a malaria problem in their
home, because they implement all the preventive measures, they can gladly
participate in your presentation in order to learn more and motivate others. It
is always like this. Hence, it is very important to make invitations informing
the public a few days before your show.

You really need to assess whether the show was awful, bad, mediocre, fair,
good, very good or excellent. Why? Because you always want to improve
your performances. You want the best in order to get the best result, reaching
all the hearts. Have you ever watched a show that made you feel something?
The emergence of this feeling shows that you were hit in your heart. Some
people cry, others laugh – a hit heart reacts in different ways depending on the
message that touched it.

This is a very important moment in the work of Reaching the Public, a work
of discussion and dissemination of your travel experience – but you need
assessment in order to learn how to make better performances.
Directive:
1. Decide, within the core group, to take this experience together.

2. Remember an average quality show that you have made. In this step,
discover and write everything on a poster – attitudes and reactions of the
audience and their comments – which indicated that the show was average,
a “so-so” performance.

3. Analyze the indicators to figure out which were the causes:

Where did you fail?

What failed?

And write everything on a poster.

4. Discuss ways to avoid such failures in the future and decide what each one
at the core group should do to assure this.

5. Include the teacher in the discussions.
