The task is to hold a DNS presentation in a European Town, where you invite neighbours to hear about DNS programme, pedagogy, and culture.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
You engage in the life of a European Town because of you being individuals that
seek for people to learn from. It is a common effort where your team, and the DNS
programme put you in the circumstances that can meet your appetite for knowledge,
and experience.

The Town folks don’t know that. Who are you? Why are you here? Making them
understand the context of your actions is a part of introducing yourselves. It’s also a
good opportunity to share your political, and pedagogical considerations, as well as
your lifestyle.

One of the ways to bring DNS programme to the Public could be an evening in the
House with a presentation, and discussions. What is the most relevant for the people
to hear about?

Hereunder, you will find some ideas that might help you to define your 'It'.

-Thoughts about the purpose and means of teaching, and what education is relevant
for the people in the Town.

-OWU and DNS pedagogical principals, Learning-by-doing, Practice-Theory-
Practice, “Learn to Travel, Travel to Learn”, Another Kind of Teacher, and many
other ways to gain knowledge, and experience in the schools, and elsewhere.

-About the DNS programme on its own, as an opportunity for those who seek an education.

-The connection between the DNS programme, you as a team and you as individuals.

-The importance of taking on Big Issues of Our Time - and the small issues as well.

-Creating relevant ideas, and issues together with the audience with the aim of creating some common, political and cultural initiatives that is relevant for the Town.

Directive:
1. Plan the evening with a DNS presentation:

-Define your 'It'. What do you want to achieve by giving the presentation?
-Define your Public. How will you make people come for the evening?
-Decide on the methods for reaching the participants. What will be the most suitable
ways of conveying It to your Public?

Write down your considerations. [1 point]

2. Make a plan for the evening, and the content of the presentation. [1 point]

3. Invite people for the presentation using methods you planned in point 1. [4 points]

4. Hold the presentation. If possible take pictures, or video. Remember to get a
feedback from the participants about your presentation. [3 points]

5. Write a one-page conclusion about the presentation. You can use the
following questions:

-How successful were the methods you have used to invite people for the evening?
-How do you evaluate your performance during the presentation individually and as a
team?
-What part(s) of the presentation could have been better prepared?
-What do you think the public got out of your presentation?
-What did you get out of it? [1 point]

7. Send your considerations (1.), the plan and content of the presentation (2.). and the
conclusion (5.) to your tutor. If possible, attach your power point presentation, notes,
pictures and videos.
