Introduction:

You know that whenever we intend to present a text to the public, we are concerned 
with our text &ldquo;looking good&rdquo;, so that it invites people to read it. This &ldquo;good look&rdquo; is 
given to the text by the handwriting or typeset used. Usually, when someone writes 
something with clear letters, we say that he or she has good handwriting. We have to 
be capable of making good choices about the type and size of the letters in each text 
that we produce. 
 
On this task, we are referring to what we can do so that the letters make the text look 
good. To do this, we need to have some basic notion of how to create texts that are 
beautiful to look at and read when we are writing a pamphlet, newsletter or poster. 
 
Visual interest is achieved from the choice of fonts, the layout of the text and of 
sensitivity to the tone of the text and the relationship between the text and the 
graphics and pictures on the page. All these factors combined give the final text an 
&ldquo;atmosphere&rdquo; or &ldquo;resonance&rdquo; that is appropriate to the content. 
 
In newspapers, magazines and publicity, graphic designers &ndash; people who have the art 
and skill of creating good typographical arrangements &ndash; are usually concerned with 
choosing the right paper, ink and printing methods. 
 
Basic knowledge of typographical arrangements is essential to you because you will 
write many texts to be disseminated to the public during the period &ldquo;Bringing it to 
the Public&rdquo;. 
 
This task is a good opportunity for you to start to develop your skills in 
typographical arrangements.
