The task is to give a talk in public place or in the middle of the neighbourhood; taking your message and making people listen and then comment on how successful your work is.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
During the Bussing period you acquired a lot of knowledge and experiences
from the communities of the various countries that you travelled through.
This task is based on what you learned and acquired in the countries you
travelled through, and now it is time for your Mozambican community to
assimilate this.

You will have to think of a message that is your own, which you want to
share with the public. This could be at the bus stop, supermarket or even at a
community meeting in the middle of the neighbourhood. Before thinking
about this, we are going to look at some tips that can help you to go into the
public with a simple, easy-to-understand message.

If you want to give a good talk, it is a good idea to start by thinking about
your community, your public, your subject, your message and everything
else that is related to the event. Giving a talk is like preparing a lesson, you
need to know your pupils and have mastered the subject.

You don’t need to bring a lot of principles to your message to the public.
You know the level of education that the community has had, so don’t go in
there with a whole load of vocabulary that will be difficult for the public to
understand. You must be sincere, clear, brief and sensitive with the
message. The message should touch everyone who is at your talk.

The choice of message for the talk depends very much on you, because you
know about many different situations, for example in Zimbabwe, Malawi,
Zambia and South Africa, in terms of subjects like hunger, poverty, health,
education, etc. So you should choose the message according to the needs of
the community. In this way, your message should call people’s attention.

The event should be a great success, you may hear people’s comments and
how they feedback afterwards.
Directive:
1. This task can be completed in small groups of 3 or 4 students from the
core group, so that you can reach 3 different audiences at the same time.

2. In your groups, decide how to meet the area leader to ask for
authorization. And to advise him of the talk that you will give in the
community. It is always a good idea to be in communication with the
relevant area authorities.

3. Choose the message and decide who will do what. Do not forget to write
a good plan, summarise the message and to provide visual aids.

4. Prepare well and outline the message.

5. Organise the place where you will give your talk.

6. Give the talk and take photographs.

7. Organise an exhibition of your photographs with descriptions of what
happened in your classroom for your fellow students and teachers.
