Introduction:
People in our part of the world are bombarded with impressions and images every
single day. If you live in a city, the average person gets over 50,000 images per day.

That is simply too much to absorb and process, so people develop a filter of
resistance whereby they let images pass them by. But the brain is still registering
more than we think. Sometime you can have dreams that you have no idea where it
came from…. has it been entered into your head somehow, without you noticing?

I have taken myself obliviously to advertisements (as they interrupt a program I am
watching) and then suddenly I realize what it is advertising for soap or something that
basically had nothing to do with the images presented.

So when making small movies, we compete with a lot of other images that line up to
impact people.

It is very difficult to make a short movie – say 2 min – with a clear message that hits
home and of high quality. They have to short, because we have to catch the attention
of first time viewers right away – and get the message through before they move on –
then if they are interested we should direct them to where they can get more
information.

On the other hand, you can manage to show and say a LOT in 2 minutes.

We need a lot of 2 minute movies about all aspect of our program and to post them in
many places.

You might not look upon yourself as a “movie-maker” – but with today’s technology,
it is easy to learn the technique. The hard part of movie making is creating the
message, decide the pictures, make the text, be critical about the recordings – doing it
again and again until even the smallest detail is in order.

This is what this task is about.
Directive:
1. Carefully watch the short movie: “We are Team One World” (F1).

2. List all the things that can be improved in this movie – regarding pictures,
texts, sound, flow, message, backgrounds, cuttings, camera angles….. etc. You
can come up with at least 50 things to correct – that is the level of details we
need to work at.

3. Present the list of improvements to 2-3 other team mates and get their input.

4. Use this for your movie production.

5. Make a script for 3 short movies – a script is a plan made in a sheet with 3
columns – one for the time – one for the picture side – one for the text side.

6. Discuss your scripts with 2-3 others at the school – involve some from the
promotion office.

7. Mobilize the “actors” of the movie.

8. Start filming – over and over again – film, watch, improve, train, film again…
This is the process.

9. Make the final editing – add music, texts, subtitles etc. Ready to show.

10. Show the movie(s) to everyone at the school in a Common Meeting. Get their
unconditional opinions and comments.

11. Improve the movies until you are happy about the products.

12. Upload and post the movies at least 10 places on the social media.

13. Celebrate when done.
