Introduction:
This task requires you to organise and hold a debate on a theme you acquired on
your trip as a part of bringing it to the public.

I know that you learned and experienced a great deal, you saw new things and you
met so many interesting people. You felt the poor person’s misery in the
neighbourhoods and villages and you talked to the inhabitants about their hopes and
dreams for a better life, despite their poor living conditions. You visited wealthier
people in their homes and talked with these friendly people about the circumstances
for the poor in their country, whom they did not know very well and did not bother
much about.

You explored rural areas and investigated in the big cities, you saw production in
factories and on large plantations, you worked with coffee growers and cattle
rangers, you interviewed company directors, talked to doctors and nurses in the
hospitals, visited schools and discussed teaching and learning with many different
teachers. So many things filled your heart, your mind and your soul. You discussed
and deliberated the impressions you made with each other over the course of your
journey and you wrote a lot of reports in your notebook.

In the group meetings, you talked, criticised, erased, added and re-wrote, one by one
and sometimes two at a time. Finally, the time for debate has come. You have
already gathered together all the documents. So now you will choose a theme. The
theme could be: The Poor and the Future (just an example), or related to the small
primary school children, the youngsters at secondary school, or academics at higher
education institutions, it could be about the parents, workers, women, the elderly, the
illiterate, or on any other number of important themes.

Organise a debate that will involve a lot of people. Be simple in your methods so as
not to wear people out. The debate should be interesting, so you must prepare well
and plan the methodology that you can see in the instructions.

Good luck!
Directive:
1. Come up with themes and points of view to be debated by the group.

2. Choose the theme within the group and write a summary of the issue.

3. Prepare the presentation of the message and organise a logical sequence to the
debate.

4. Prepare everything you need for the debate to happen: presenter, material, room,
etc.

5. Ensure that everything is prepared and that it will be a high-quality debate.

6. Organise the participants and choose the methodology of the debate: forming
groups, common room, questionnaires, etc.

7. The groups come to conclusions for plenary.

8. Take photos during the event. Display the photos with descriptions in the window
of your classroom.

9. Write about the results of the debate and show this to your teacher.
