The task is to learn how to make a good course
Time:

Introduction:
Even if you never have had any course by your own I`m pretty sure all of
you know what a good course is, and for different reasons. Each and every
one of us has different experiences. Just think about a boring course when
you were a student, when you lost focus and started to draw something in
your notebook and some other students maybe even fell asleep. We can agree
that this is definitely not a good course so you already have the foundation to
what you can use for making it different. When you have a bad example it is
very good to use it to make it better, to improve. This is of course also true
regarding the good experiences. Use the good elements from a good
presentation form what you liked yourself.

A good course is something which will catch the interest from the beginning
and you can keep your students concentration during the whole time while
you are presenting.

I can give some advises for what is good to keep in mind, and of course it’s
you who can decide about the subject or the topic and just make the course
very good.

The good course is not relying on the subject for the course. Even if it’s not
your favorite topic you still can make a good set up for the course and grab a
different angle to present and talk about the topic.

Before you start to prepare your course think about your students, your
audience, those who shall benefit from the course. How can you make it
interesting and instructive for them?

Don’t be afraid to talk, to make it interactive with your students. Ask
questions, make a discussion. Both you and they will get a lot out of it. This
will also help you when you make mistakes, which all teachers will do. In an
interactive atmosphere mistakes are no problem.

To prepare a course takes time, and you have to be aware of that. Don’t try to
finish it fast. Maybe it takes 3-6 hours, but it is worth using it.

Use different methods to present what you want. If you have a computer you
can make a presentation with pictures diagrams, music…

If you haven’t got any electronic equipment you still can make posters and
big placards to demonstrate what you are talking about. It makes it also
easier to follow.

Don’t get scared if you face some kind of problems in the beginning. You
will become a very good teacher through experiences. The more courses you
have, the easier it will become.

Make sure that you get feedbacks and support. It’s important for you to know
if it is good and instructive what you are doing. Also, how can it even be
better?

I’m sure that you have plenty of good ideas. So don’t be afraid to make them
happen. Everybody will benefit from your efforts.
Directive:
1. Conduct the course which you have prepared for
your group and in the presence of your group
teacher.

2. Make an evaluation directly after the course and
get the comments and advices from your fellow
students and your teacher.

3. Choose three subjects for courses in your class in
primary school and prepare three good courses
making use of your knowledge about what makes a
course into a good course; get the courses qualified
by your teacher.

4. Conduct the first course in the primary school;
after the course evaluate it together with the
students in the class, the critic teacher, your micro
group and your group teacher.

5. Use the evaluation and the critics to improve the
two other courses you have prepared and store the
courses for later use in the primary school.
