Introduction:

When you enrolled to DNS you enrolled yourself for something very special. And 
to participate in something special, you must be special yourself, or become 
special, don&rsquo;t you agree? 
 
As you have probably discovered yourself, you get a completely different 
education and will later have a job different from that of most people. It requires 
doing many things in an alternative way. 
 
One of them is that you have to get used to another way of studying by using the 
DMM method. You need to learn how to use it, so you can benefit the most from it. 
The point system gives you an opportunity to compose your own studying, 
understands it as a tool to see if you respond to the curriculum, and it is a 
motivational factor in being you own driving force in your education; this, of 
course, only if you use the method the way it is intended to be. 
 
If you ONLY go for collecting points no matter how, then DMM is of no use for 
you. The points will be &ldquo;empty&rdquo; points and you will be wasting the time for 
everybody. 
 
Remember that the easiest way is not necessarily the best, and it is probably not the 
one that will help you in the future. 
 
This is a common known &lsquo;truth&rsquo; in general, and it also goes for the use of the 
DMM system and the points. 
 
My mom was always telling me that I was studying for my own good, not for her, 
and not for the teachers. 
 
When you are a child, you do not really pay attention to this kind of comments - at 
least I did not. 
 
But now I am no longer a child, and you are not a child any more. We have to 
understand why we are studying and what we want to achieve by studying. 
While you are using the DMM method, please think about why you use it, and who 
will benefit from it! 
 
Isn&rsquo;t it you who in the future will stay in front of your pupils and give courses and 
presentations about different topics which YOU have learnt about? 
 
It is not your friend, not an encyclopedia or the internet. 
It is YOU. 
 
You are responsible for your decisions, and YOU can become a very good teacher 
by learning as much as possible. 
 
The DMM system gives you freedom and chance to learn by your own. So, please 
use your chance, and give a special and thorough education for your students from 
a very special teacher, from YOU!

1. Think! And answer honestly to the following questions:

teacher or (2) a tool for you; 
 
b. Choose your answer between the following 
number 1 and 2, and describe shortly in which 
situation you will learn the most (1) by copying 
from a fellow student or (2) by solving the task 
yourself; 
 
c. Make a short description of why you are studying 
at DNS, what are your expectations to the 
education; 
 
d. Are you aware that you can improve your final 
mark by having solved more than the minimum 
tasks required for passing a period? 
 
e. Are you aware that you will get a better education 
the more tasks you solve? 
 
f. Are you aware that the only person you cheat 
when cheating with the point system is yourself? 
&nbsp;</div>
2. Write an essay on the subject and get help to take a 
stand to the questions put to you above; consider the fact 
that &frac12; of the school time is spent on studies.
