Introduction:
The title is also the title of some pages in the DNS Zambia book. It is about<br /> grasping on the more advanced scale the fundamentals of what makes a student<br /> equipped to become a full-fledged teacher from day one. So here the student can see<br /> herself in overview as seen in relation to performing as a high quality teacher<br /> influencing not only the school, but also the life in a wider circle around the school.<br /> <br /> The teacher-trainer can here consider the product, the trained teacher, and what<br /> constitutes that teacher condensed into a few pages.<br /> <br /> It is an intellectual product. It is based on both practice and a here formulated theory.<br /> It deserves your attention and your considerations.<br /> <br /> “Knowledge of Matter” as here described is a double-sided or double-way thing. It is<br /> firstly knowledge of matter in the form of subjects, in the form of nature, in the form<br /> of culture and all phenomena based on cause and effect. This excludes God, but not<br /> religion. It includes Tradition as caused by us and as having an effect on us. It<br /> includes the science of learning. And much more could be mentioned. It is secondly<br /> Knowledge of Matter as it changes and as it is being changed by us and the teacher.<br /> <br /> This includes the matter of the primary or secondary school which do not have a<br /> Garden Farm or a school garden, a matter of fact which the teacher of the future<br /> should attack head on. So Matter includes change of Matter. Change of curriculum,<br /> change of circumstances, change of methods, change and refinement and<br /> development of teaching towards becoming uplifting and enlightening.<br /> <br /> Mastership of method is crucial to enable the teacher to use a great variety of<br /> methods used to achieve crucial states of minds for the pupils such as being<br /> motivated, enthused, and a host of other good humane traits needed for a fertile<br /> learning environment.<br /> <br /> Note that Humble Courage is an unusual constellation, but it appears very truthful<br /> that Humility is a MUST to not fall into arrogance towards school and pupils and<br /> colleagues, because of personal pride in the extraordinary results that the courage<br /> has lead to, but instead to keep on with stamina and always prepare meticulously in<br /> order to always achieve what it is about, to move pupils, students, colleagues and the<br /> world. That said, the task is also huge and resistance to progress will most likely<br /> appear and demand courage. So an attitude of Humble Courage is required. Matter,<br /> Method and Humble Courage.

It may well take an hour or 2 to go through it thoroughly.<br /> <br /> But you might chose to explain parts of it. But the result should be that the<br /> intention of the authors, to uplift and enlighten, has achieved its goal with you<br /> and your fellow students.<br /> <br /> 3. You describe this with notes from the meeting or with a statement from the<br /> meeting or by explaining in writing an issue discussed and send it to your tutor<br /> for approval.
