Introduction:
At DNS, we train educators. We do schooling of future teachers.

We, the teachers at DNS, see ourselves as facilitators for you, the student, to equip
yourself to become the best ever teacher for your students in whatever school you later
may choose to work. We want to provide you with the tools that enable you through
your whole life to stay vividly interested in people surrounding you.

At DNS, Another Kind of School, while you bring life to the programme elements, you
will:

-learn to listen to and understand what people say and otherwise express;

-train your ability to cooperate with people from all walks of life;

-practice speaking, discussing, listening, teaching, leading study sessions and through
that you will learn how people learn;

-train your potential for analysing facts, defining goals, creating strategies and carrying
out actions;

-prepare, host and carry out pedagogical, cultural and political events;
… and probably few more things.

At DNS, Another Kind of School, you will experience that progress and development is
something that is created in a collective process. One person alone cannot cause
progress and development to sprout. Here, you might like to hear one of our slogans:
“Alone the world changes you, together we change the world.”

At DNS – Another Kind of School, you will experience:

-that time is running very fast for you;

-that you are never bored by what you are in the middle of doing because you always
face challenges which you might have never even thought of;

-that you are very busy;

-that you are constantly challenged to break your own limits;

-that you are training your ability to be open-minded and courageous;

-that you are very busy;

-that you manage because you are in this together with your teammates who are in the
same process as you are, and with the students from the other teams who are at
another stage in the programme;
… all that leading you towards becoming Another Kind of Teacher.

Your studies at DNS are all pointing towards your future as a teacher for others. The
methods, through which you learn here at DNS, are universally valid and applicable for
all ages.
Directive:
1. Based on the introduction from DNS-Tvind pedagogy book, the pages 9-12 (F1),
answer what ‘schooling’ means in DNS context? [15 minutes]

2.
