The task is to make a lesson plan which sets the topic in its right place in the bigger picture and at the same time include the tiniest details.
Time:
hours
Introduction:
Firstly, in this task you will need to understand what the following mean: (i) fitting the
topic to the general context of the subject and (ii) including the smallest details. How
can you plan lessons that combine these two elements? The following tries to illustrate
this through concrete examples:

Portuguese Language:
2 nd Grade,
Topic: Members of the family
Specific Objective: “Identify the members of the family”.
How?

Fitting the topic into the general context: talk about the unity and solidarity of the
family and the unity of the people in a country, peace in the family, the country and the
world, talk about caring for children;

Including the smallest details: a family that is a friend of the class visits the class at the
teacher’s invitation or the class goes to visit a family. The pupils will see and
understand who the members of the family are: father, mother, children, brothers,
sisters and others. They can talk about the challenges of the family and the present and
future wellbeing of the family members.

The primary school teacher always plans each lesson that he teaches, but each lesson
should not be thought up in isolation, it should encompass the set of general subjects to
be taught. This will make the lesson richer.

The lesson is a chance for the pupil to acquire and consolidate knowledge and skills
and to have new experiences. That is why the richer the activities are and the more the
lesson is a part of the pupils’ environment, the better learning will be. Therefore, it is a
good idea for the teacher to broaden his range of activities in the class to include the
general context of the subject and the smallest details.

You have to do this, but first you need to be aware of the topic, the objective and the
contents to later be able to find ways of inserting this into the general context of the
subject. There are no fixed rules for this, you are free to turn to your creativity and
come up with ways of doing this in each lesson.

During your lesson planning, you should think about all the possibilities that the topic
has to offer, and go into the tiniest detail so as not to have to improvise anything and
also not to forget anything, deciding on the activities, and the timing.
This topic will enable you to think a lot about this subject.

Enjoy.
Directive:
1. Choose any topic from the textbook of the class you are
teaching.

2. Fit the topic into its widest context, example if you talk
about any plant connect it to the photosynthesis and the
world’s atmosphere and at the same time let the children
discover the small strings where water runs.

3. Make the lesson plan and get it qualified in your micro
group.

4. Send the plan to your teacher for comments.

5. Write an essay about the topic and publish it on the
school’s notice board.
