Introduction:

For the children&rsquo;s pleasure, a teacher working with a first grade class of 70 
pupils under a mango tree, talked to the pupils&rsquo; parents about making mats; one 
mat for each group of pupils. 
 
During the classes, the pupils made a clay vase and put a bare branch in it. The 
teacher then hung educational materials and games from the branch. This vase 
became known as the games vase. When the pupils arrived, before the teacher 
and at break times, each group got their mat and their games vase and started to 
play checkers and cards, jump rope, read, or play with numbers and letters. 
 
After a month, before the pupils started learning to count and write numbers, the 
teacher discovered that they all already knew how to count to 10. 
 
An observation team discovered that when a child is deprived of a stimulating 
environment, the child&rsquo;s brain suffers. The Researchers from the Baylor Medical 
Institute discovered that children who don&rsquo;t play very much or who are rarely 
touched have 20 to 30% less brain development than a normal child of their age. 
 
Children&rsquo;s experiences provide an interesting comparison: 
Children who study in classrooms with educational materials and toys present more 
complex knowledge/behaviour than children who study in classrooms without 
educational materials or toys. So, favourable conditions encourage the practice of 
activities that develop a sound body and mind. 
 
As teachers, it is our duty to implement fun learning methodology.
