The task is to understand what has to be done when someone has to take care of a sick person and to know what to do when the conditions are becoming worse.

Introduction:
A sick person’s body is weaker compared with someone who is healthy. To gain<br /> strength and to get well special care is needed.<br /> <br /> When a person is not healthy assistance may be needed for daily things. The caring<br /> person must look after the sick and monitor their condition; whether they are<br /> improving or declining, this is something that is important to do.<br /> <br /> We can assess ourselves quite well and have the knowledge to take care of our sick.<br /> This is not always the case in the countries we are traveling to. People need to learn<br /> how to take care of the sick. With the right knowledge, the length of sickness can be<br /> reduced so the person is up and running again in less time.<br /> <br /> In this task you will learn the basic care of a sick person and what is important to put<br /> your attention to.
Directive:
1. Read the file: “How to take care of a sick person” from David Werner’s book<br /> “Where there is no Doctor”.<br /> <br /> 2. Imagine a situation at your project where you have to teach how to take care<br /> of a person who is sick.<br /> <br /> 3. Imagine a situation at your project where you have to teach how to take care<br /> of a person who is very ill.<br /> <br /> 4. Imagine a situation at your project where you have to teach what to do when a<br /> situation worsens, and you need to seek medical attention.<br /> <br /> 5. Write point 2 - 4 in text and send to your teacher.
