Time:
hours
Introduction:
Cancer is a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of
the body. Our entire body is made up of trillions of cells and therefore cancer can
basically occur in any part of the body. There are over 100 types of cancer, typically
named for the part of the body where it occurs or the types of cells affected.

The overall most common cancers are lung cancer, breast cancer (women only) and
colon cancer.

Medicine has not mapped out all the causes for this abnormal cell division to start,
but a lot of research is taking place and every year new knowledge is added. You can
divide the causes in two main types – one is genetics that we inherit – the other is our
life style choices and the environmental.

Most of us know someone who have or have had cancer. There were 14 million
cancer of cancer worldwide in 2012. This is estimated to increase to 24 million by
2035. Only a few years back, it was a death sentence to be diagnosed with cancer –
today medical science have developed tremendously and the ability to cure cancer is
still on the increase. Also alternative non-medical options are available, most famous
is the Gerson Therapy, developed over 80 years ago. The Gerson Therapy is an
alternative, non-toxic treatment for cancer and other chronic degenerative diseases.
The best way to protect yourself from cancer is to keep strengthen your immune
system, do what it takes to keep your cells vital and healthy, and chose a life style and
an environment free from toxins. Although this is not any guarantee for not getting
cancer, it will help you to beat cancer if you should get it.

In this task you will learn more about cancer and the possibilities for curing cancer.
This is however a huge topic and you will only be able to touch the surface here.
